Following the official draw held under the auspices of the ITTF, the national team of the Republic of Moldova has determined its path in the group stage of the World Team Table Tennis Championships 2026, a competition that will take place in London.
According to the results of the draw, the Moldovan national team was allocated to Group 12, alongside the national teams of Poland, Chile, and Tahiti. The composition of the group outlines a balanced competitive framework, with opponents representing different schools of table tennis, each with its own tactical and stylistic characteristics.
The participation of the Republic of Moldova in the World Championships in London represents an important achievement for national table tennis, confirming the team’s steady progress and the work carried out in recent years by the athletes, coaches, and governing bodies. Competing in a group that is diverse both geographically and in terms of playing strength offers real challenges as well as the opportunity to demonstrate the competitive maturity of the national squad on the world stage.
The upcoming preparation phase will be essential, with the focus placed on strengthening team cohesion, adapting to the specific characteristics of the opponents, and optimizing sporting form for the premier competition of national teams. ATTP will keep the table tennis community of the Republic of Moldova regularly informed about the progress of the preparations and the schedule of the group-stage matches.
Based on the ITTF rankings and recent appearances in international competitions, it is preliminarily estimated that the teams of Poland and Chile may rely, among others, on players such as Milosz Redzimski and Samuel Kulczycki (Poland), Gustavo Gómez and Felipe Olivares (Chile), with the final team line-ups to be officially confirmed by the ITTF at a later stage.
ATTP Moldova wishes the national team great success and encourages all table tennis supporters to stand by our athletes on their road to the World Championships London 2026.
